Not long after signing former Saints long snapper Kevin Houser, the Seahawks have released offseason acquisition Bryan Pittman.Coming over from Houston, Pittman was expected to give the Seahawks some long-awaited stability at the long snapper position, despite his four-game suspension last season for banned substances.
However, he suffered a hand injury recently in a non-football related incident. The injury should take several weeks for recovery.

The need for a dependable long snapper has been a long and arduous journey for the 'Hawks this offseason.
With the addition of Houser, Seattle has now gone through five different long snappers this offseason (Jeff Robinson, Tyler Schmitt, Ryan Senser, Bryan Pittman, Kevin Houser).
