Unfortunately, success and a shot at the playoffs are not measured by the percentage a club possesses the ball but how many times the club puts the ball in the back of the net.
Sounders FC simply have not been able to penetrate deep into their opponent's defensive zone to create many scoring opportunities.
For the most part, the defense was pretty solid against Chivas by limiting them to only three real opportunities. But Chivas, who was tenacious in the Sounders box, took advantage of a rebound off of another world class save by Kasey Keller.
On a lighter note, The Sounders were extremely gracious in the fact that every single member of the club as well as Tony Ventrella and GM Adrian Hannauer, took time out of their schedule after training today to lend their John Hancocks to an X-Box console that will be auctioned of Thursday, night, June 11th at Highway 99 for charity party function for the Puget Sound Corporate Soccer Challenge involving, Boeing, Expedia, Microsoft and Starbucks. The proceeds from the final bid will go to the Ronald McDonald House.
"SFI TV" also had the opportunity to speak with striker Nate Jaqua to discuss his red card and his feelings on sitting out this weekend.
