Over at ESPN.com, Mike Sando shares his observations on today's practice. Perhaps the most interesting and encouraging was rookie LB Aaron Curry's strength covering TE John Carlson.
Aaron Curry covers Carlson better than anyone, but coach Jim Mora singled out the rookie linebacker's pass-rush skills as a pleasant surprise so far this offseason. Mora issued the usual disclaimer about how it's tough to fully evaluate when players aren't wearing pads. But he said the pass-rush aspect was something they did not see from him in college because Wake Forest didn't ask him to do it much.

While it's way too early to judge just how effective Curry can be as a pass rusher, his ability to shadow the opposing tight end will be huge for a defense that has long struggled in this area.
If he can take the coverage pressure off fellow LB Leroy Hill and allow Hill to focus on getting to the passer then that should benefit the entire defense.
Seahawks Insider has extensive information on the players returning from injury, including an audio interview with WR Deion Branch.
New DE/DT Cory Redding was finally able to practice today and talked a bit more about the role he will play on the team this year.
“I feel like I can drop down and play the end position,” Redding said. “And also keep my strength so whenever I’m out there in the three-technique bring back in Patrick (Kerney) and all of the other guys and (Darryl) Tapp and all the other guys and we get out there and get to rushing, and get after the quarterback.”
In case you're still interested in QB Michael Vick, head coach Jim Mora spoke about his former quarterback today. While he said he believes Vick deserves a chance to play in the NFL again, he said the team has no interest in adding another quarterback.
"You know what? It's a sticky situation, one I'm not comfortable talking about," Mora said. "The fact of the matter is, Michael Vick is a member of the Atlanta Falcons' organization right now. For me to be speaking on him would be speaking out of turn. I'll just say this for the record: We are very happy with the quarterbacks we have on our roster. We have no intentions of adding another player to our roster at this time."
He then caught himself, knowing "at this time" would invite rumors that Seattle's stance might change on Vick once he is a free man later this summer.
Mora made it clear it won't.
"Just cut out the 'at this time,' because then people will speculate for the next three months," the coach said, chuckling. "We have no intentions of adding a quarterback to our roster."
