SOUNDERS FC: Column: Prost Amerika viewing party at "Azzurri"

On an almost perfect sunny spring day during Memorial weekend, this away match took me to Prost Amerika's viewing party at a new venue called Azzurri in Fremont.

Journalist Steve Clare from Prost Amerika, planned the event.

To Continue...

"What we are trying to do is provide the European style family friendly viewing," Clair said. "Mothers and fathers can bring their children. Kids who are not quite 20 or 21 can come and watch and also other people."

"One of the things that we are working to do in a meet up group with Prost Amerika and my passion for soccer is to take business to bars who's owners are genuine football fans," Clare said.

And the place did put on a good show. Many fans were decked out in their Sounders gear including yours truly. Some fans just came incognito but brought their passion with them. There was no singing throughout the match but those in attendance did not lack the enthusiasm and energy especially when our boys came back to tie the match and almost steal a victory.

All in all it was a fun day with passionate soccer fans, good folks in a lovely and charming family friendly establishment. To the hosts, I say thank you for a great event, well done.

Don't just read it, see it

I could have written more but better yet, I will let you see for yourself. As I promised, along with written content, I would start providing video content as well. This viewing party is the debut of "Sounder Fan Insider TV". Using "flip" video, you the fans will not only get to read about the Sounders but you will get to see through my eyes, or lens if you will.

I thought that this particular event and Memorial day was the perfect time to debut our new feature.
