Was QB Mike Teel the backup plan in the sixth round?
If rookie Browns CB Don Carey is to be trusted, then the answer is 'yes.' In an interview with Scout.com, the 6-1 cornerback revealed that the Seahawks told him he would be their pick in the sixth round, but so did the Browns, who were selecting one pick ahead of Seattle.

"Cleveland told me they've got a pick coming up and we're going to take you," Carey said. "I was like OK and hung up the phone with them. Dallas said the same thing. Seattle said the same thing."
Carey was a four-year starter in Norfolk State and finished his college career with 10 interceptions including five his senior year.
Carey could have filled a perceived need at cornerback with his height, coming in at 6-1. He also played safety in college.
He ran a 4.54 40-yard-dash at the combine so GM Tim Ruskell could have been thinking 'safety' if he was targeting Carey.
