With yesterday's 9-1 blowout loss to the Kansas City Royals, the Mariners gave up their near season long AL West lead to the Texas Rangers by a half a game.
The Rangers made up some ground by narrowly defeating the Mariners twice during a two-game series at Safeco earlier this week.
