The Sounders were held scoreless last weekend by Chivas, and the squad is hoping to break their two-game scoreless streak. Here's a look at the probable starting lineups for the squads.
Starting Lineups
The Sounders will welcome veteran goalkeeper Kasey Keller back to the lineup. Keller was serving an April 11 red-card suspension and was unable to play in the Chivas game last week. Replacement ‘keeper Chris Eylander let two go by him in the loss.
According to initial reports, Schmid will continue to pair Nate Jaqua and Fredy Montero in the forward positions. Brad Evans, Osvaldo Alonso and Sebastian Le Toux in the diamond configuration at midfield and James Riley, Tyrone Marshall, Jhon Kennedy Hurtado and Zach Scott in defensive roles. Look for Sanna Nyassi and Steve Zakuani to enter the game as reserves.
San Jose’s potential starting lineup has Joe Cannon in goal, Eric Denton, Nick Garcia, Kelly Gray and Chris Leitch across the defensive end. Bobby Convey, Simon Elliot, Ramiro Corrales and Arturo Alvarez at the midfield position. The Sounders backline will match up against the Quakes’ two forwards, Pablo Campos and Ryan Johnson. Alvarez and Johnson lead the squad this season with two goals each.
