SEAHAWKS: Reading the field - Flash back 13 years

DKSB has a fascinating series going on over at his blog, Dave Krieg's Strike Beard, where he's ranking all 33 squads. It's down to the top few teams and the 1986 squad ranks in at no. 5.
The Hawks exploded out of the gate, starting out 4-1 and pulling off one of the great comebacks in team history at Foxboro. Down 31-21 late, the Hawks scored 17 points in the last three minutes to win 38-31. Paul Moyer recovered a blocked punt in the end zone to tie the game, and Krieg hit Ray Butler on a 67-yard bomb for the game-winner.

DKSB goes on to describe in riveting detail the highs and lows of one of the most thrilling seasons in Seahawks history.

Seahawks war room
NFL.com went inside the Seahawks war room and the Seattle Times' Danny O'Neil analyzes the discussion held by GM Tim Ruskell and his draft squad.

Ruskell and Ruston Webster talk cornerbacks and the lack of tall, skilled players and O'Neil breaks it down:
This points to a change in emphasis and a desire to get someone to matchup and account for the perpetual mismatch Larry Fitzgerald creates. Tim Ruskell has been very adamant that being a "shorter" corner doesn't preclude eventual success, pointing to players like Ronde Barber. But this is not considered a deep draft in terms of corners
He also breaks down the defensive line and wide receiver talk. Check out the full article here.

Top character in the draft
Pro Football Weekly has the top five draft prospects with the top character and it's been well documented that Seahawks GM Tim Ruskell demands players with the trait.

Here are the top five:
1. Malcolm Jenkins
2. Everette Brown
3. Brian Orakpo
4. James Laurinaitis
5. Eugene Monroe

Of the five, the only player the Seahawks might be interested in at no. 4 is offensive tackle Eugene Monroe.
