Heading into the third game of a four-game series against the Minnesota Twins, the Seattle Mariners hope Carlos Silva can duplicate his prior success from when he was a member of the Twins.Silva has a lifetime record of 27-17 in the Metrodome, a place he called home 2004-07.

Last season, Silva was 4-15 as a Mariner with a 6.46 ERA. He'll be taking on the Twin’s Kevin Slowey (12-11; 3.99 ERA; 123 SO).
Silva said he lost around 35 pounds this offseason. Once nearly 300 pounds, he said he acquired his excess baggage from years of unhealthy eating.
Throughout the offseason, he placed himself on a very strict diet that he still actively abides by. He stopped eating meat and is now a vegan.
Even though Slowey has a full season under his belt, he'll likely be limited to five or so innings. Slowey has yet to face the Mariners in his young career.
As for the starting lineup, Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu has stated he wants all of his position players to play in the four-game series.
So far, only catcher Rob Johnson, third baseman Matt Tuiasosopo and Ronny Cedeno haven't played.
The Twins are still without their all-star catcher Joe Mauer, but that didn't stop them from ruining Mariner closer Brandon Morrow's first close attempt of the season.
Expect the Mariners to be huddled around Felix Hernandez tomorrow as he will be turning 23.
