In his final start before the regular season, Carlos Silva pitched 5 quality innings, giving up just six hits. Silva struck out two and walked none. His only mistake came in the third inning against San Diego left fielder Scott Hairston, who homered with one on.
Mark Lowe, who'se learning to deal with his diabetes, pitched two innings with one walk, one strike out and one earned run on two hits.
Rookie Johan Limonta continued to hit well. After pinch running for Russell Branyan, who was 0-for-3 with a walk, Limonta was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. He raised his spring training batting average to .600.
