Ljungberg is known for decisive runs attacking the flanks of opposing defenses, pinpoint passing, and a hard, precise shot that has allowed him to score 58 goals throughout his professional career. There is only one factor that could stop Ljungberg’s ability to provide the Sounders with a proven leader and midfield maestro: his health.
As the high-paid designated player, Ljungberg's services can't be over valued, especially as the team opens their inaugural season against the New York Red Bulls. He's still a few weeks from starting, but the news of his recovery is welcoming.
