Redding added: "I'm just excited to have the opportunity to play football once again with an organization that has a winning tradition like this one. I had six good years in Detroit. Detroit has been good to me. I'm leaving a lot of friends there. But that's in the past now."
Redding said he didn't know anything about his contract being restructured, and he apparently leaves that entirely up to his agent.
He also plans to lose about 15 pounds to get to 285 in order to more effectively play the defensive end spot.
