
In a move that didn't surprise anybody, The Rams continued to clear salary cap space by releasing veteran wide receiver Torry Holt.
The 32-year-old Holt joined 33-year-old tackle Orlando Pace as a free agent after Pace was released from the Rams three days earlier. Both players were part of the "greatest show on turf," the name given to the 1999-2001 explosive Rams offense.

The move reportedly clears up $14 million in salary cap space.
The moves signify Rams front office has resigned to rebuilding the team. This of course affects the Seahawks in that the Rams appear poised to be NFC West pushovers for a few more years to come.
Holt can be expected to quickly sign with another team, but don't expect the Seahawks to grab another aging receiver after just signing 31-year-old T.J. Houshmandzadeh to a lucrative $40-million deal.
