Green has traveled from team to team since joining the NFL in 2002, playing for the Seahawks, Ravens, Texans and Saints.

Green's departure appeared imminent after Cole supplanted him as the big run-stuffer on the Seahawks front four.

Green will likely be used as a backup nose tackle in the Jets' 3-4 defense. He joined the Seahawks in 2007 to play in five games, then 13 in 2008. Green had no starts with the 'Hawks.
