
Against a tough Netherlands team three Seattle Mariners were key in the victory for Venezuela.
Left fielder Endy Chavez hit leadoff and started the game off with a triple. Chavez went 1-for-4 with a run scored.
Carlos Silva started the game and threw seven strong innings. Silva allowed just one run on four hits, striking out four.
But it was second baseman Jose Lopez who was the key for the victory.

In the bottom of the eight, on the first pitch Lopez saw he smashed it over the left field wall for a solo shot.
Even though it was Lopez only hit of the game he kept his batting average at an incredible .615 for the tournament.
Later tonight team USA will face Puerto Rico at 5 p.m. on the MLB channel.
Seattle will bring their 6-and-7 record with them to face the Colorado Rockies at 1:10 p.m.
Starting pitcher Erik Bedard was scratched again from throwing. Instead he'll try and rest his sore hip.
