GM Tim Ruskell told P-I reporter Clare Farnsworth to not expect anything monumental from him in free agency."We're not going to be big players," club president Tim Ruskell said. "You're not going to write about us that way.Never trust a general manager in the offseason.
Someone wasn't entirely honest in that interview because one of the biggest names in free agency is visiting Seattle today: enter T.J. Houshmandzadeh."

The Seahawks are also bringing in Cowboys starting RDE Chris Canty. He recorded three sacks in the Cowboy's 3-4 scheme last year. Signing a defensive end seems unlikely at this point but Canty could potentially fit in as Rocky Bernard's replacement at defensive tackle. Here is my write-up on Canty. He is set to visit with the Giants tomorrow.
Rocky Bernard is meeting with the Giants, and should be gone in 2009 after free agency dust settles.
The Seahawks are also reportedly looking to sign Saints starting RT Stinchcomb. The Seahawks are also looking at Bucs WR Michael Clayton.
Stinchcomb, 29, hasn't missed a game since earning the starting job in 2006. The current starter at RT is Sean Locklear, but backup Ray Willis is expected to leave Seattle in free agency. Still signing a starter as a backup seems suspicious, unless the Seahawks know something about Walter Jones that would force Locklear over to the left... pure speculation.
Former Seahawks CB Shawn Springs was cut from the Redskins to make salary cap room after signing Haynesworth to a $100 million deal and DeAngelo Hall to a $54 million deal.
