In a strange turn of events, Texas Tech WR Michael Crabtree said his stress fracture would not force him to undergo foot surgery, according to the Dallas Morning News.
It was originally reported that Michael Crabtree's stress fracture was a newly acquired injury, and that he would have a pin surgically placed in his foot, sidelining him from any work outs for 8-10 weeks.
That report turned out to be false on two fronts.
1. Crabtree has had the stress fracture for about a year.
2. The injury does not affect him at all, and he will still run at his pro day on March 26.
Here is what Crabtree had to say:
"I don't know where that report came from," Crabtree said. "It [stress fracture] has been there for about a year and it's never caused me any pain. I can play with it the rest of my life. It won't stop me from running. I'm going to run."
The Seahawks met with Crabtree tonight, but no reports have come out of the meeting as of yet.
