SEAHAWKS: As expected, Bernard signs elsewhere

Defensive tackle Rocky Bernard will move from what some refer to as the football equivalent of Egypt to the NFL motherland after he signed with the New York Giants today.

The top potential suitor to fill Bernard's vacant starting defensive tackle spot appears to be Cowboys 3-4 DE Chris Canty, who's Visiting the Seahawks Monday.

In other news, the Seahawks offered Buccaneers WR Michael Clayton a higher offer than the Buccaneers, but he re-signed with Tampa Bay Anyway.

The Seahawks have apparently offered Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh a contract, but he is still shopping himself around. He'll be checking out Tampa Bay Sunday and possibly Philadelphia. He said he would make a decision on where he will play by Sunday, but that was before it was revealed he would be making more team visits.
