Sounders FC will host the New York Red Bulls at 6 p.m. March 19, at Qwest Field for the opening game of the 2009 MLS season. The match will be nationally televised on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes it was announced Dec. 2.
Opening weekend also includes reigning MLS champions Columbus Crew facing the Houston Dynamo at home on Saturday March 21. The Los Angeles Galaxy visit D.C. United in Sunday's game.
EPL WEEKEND ROUNDUP
Chelsea defeated Bolton 2-0 to record their 11th consecutive win away from home. The victory broke a 48 year-old record of 10 consecutive away wins set by Tottenham Hotspurs.
Liverpool also won away to stay top of the table, defeating Blackburn 3-1. Xabi Alonso, Yossi Benayoun and captain Steven Gerrard scored for the visitors while Roque Santa Cruz scored a consolation for the home side.
Nemanja Vidic scored a 90th-minute goal for Manchester United to defeat Sunderland at Old Trafford. Michael Carrick's deflected shot came off the inside of the right post to give Vidic the opportunity to put the ball into the open net.
